Aether Battlegrounds

Aether Battlegrounds is a unique game mode in which 8 players battle it out in 1v1 matches with the goal of being the last one standing. Entry to Aether Battlegrounds is purchased with $AEG Tokens, and players are then given a random selection of 3 Adventurers to choose one from their pool of Adventurers. Players must construct a 30-card deck from their collection, which must include only one Legendary Card. After a deck is selected, the player is placed in a series of matched games using that deck. Upon completing the series of matches, or losing once, the Aether Battlegrounds run ends and the player is rewarded depending on their standing. Only the top 3 players will receive rewards, and those who do well can reap generous rewards, however for those who do not do as well, Aether Battlegrounds can become a costly gamble. Constructing a strong deck is key to achieving victory, however the randomised Adventurers during the drafting process presents a unique challenge to players in anticipating the Adventurers they will be offered. While decks are less predictable than Duel mode, Aether Battlegrounds is still limited to the regular set of playable cards and effects. In order to participate in Aether Battlegrounds, players must have unlocked at least 5 Adventurers in the game.

Duo Queue:

Upon entry into the Duo Colosseum, players are required to double the cost of their SoloQ entry fee (e.g. 100 AEG Tokens for SoloQ and 200 AEG Tokens for DuoQ). Players may choose to queue with a random ally or a friend from their friend list to participate in a 2v2 match that is split into 1v1 matches against 16 players (8 duo teams). Each player is given a random selection of 3 Adventurers to choose from their available pool, and must build a 30-card deck using cards from their collection. Uniquely, no Legendary cards may be shared between decks and only 10 cards may be replicated.

If both players of a team win, they win the match and move to the next opponents; if one player on either side loses, he is eliminated from the further run and the winner proceeds solo. Upon a successful run, rewards are increased x3 and a unique Legendary Duo Colosseum Treasure Chest is granted if both players survive, or x2 if only one of the players is last standing. Only the last standing player or team will receive any rewards in this mode.

In the event of a disconnection, the usual gameplay rules apply and the player may reconnect. If the player does not come back, they are disqualified and their teammate must proceed as a solo player.
